What culture is important to have for a hospital?
The debate about how much flexibility, ability to reallocate resources and the organization’s willingness to operate in a more flexible way, sheds new light on culture in hospitals. For hospitals to function optimally, there must be a culture that is carefully defined, well communicated and owned by all. This culture must be built up systematically over time, based on both what is required to solve the social mission and the values that exist among all employees. The question is what should that culture look like? What values should it build on to be right for a hospital?
