We started out with a single ambition: to finally make culture visible, measurable and actionable for every leader in the world.
After years leading global teams and digging deep into research around values, a vision formed. Understanding how values shaped leaders' decisions, and seeing how some cultures outperformed others within the same company, Tone S. Ringstad founded Values@work to create business value from people's values.
Over a decade of real-world culture management consulting — working with leadership teams, mergers and organisational change — the methodology was applied, tested and refined. The evidence was building.
On a visit to Palo Alto, a chance meeting with a software team changed everything. The first digital platform, Culturengine, was built in a Silicon Valley garage, a few blocks from Steve Jobs' house. For the first time, culture data could be gathered, systemised, analysed and acted on at scale.
The tech was moved from the Silicon Valley garage to Oslo to test the market. The platform opened to partners for the first time. Training and certification modules were developed — enabling organisations to deliver culture transformation with a shared methodology and consistent results.
The platform was rebuilt on Azure, bringing new capabilities with deeper analytics, richer insight and faster recommendations. The company evolved from Culturengine to Culture Intelligence, and external investment brought a new board and a new team.
AI was integrated into the platform, transforming culture data into real-time, predictive and customised recommendations for leaders through our AI copilot. The vision of making culture not only measurable but predictable was becoming a reality.
